Paula Wiegmink was born in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe and migrated to Perth, Western Australia in 1994. She is now based in Dunsborough, South Western Australia.
A multi award winning artist who has exhibited internationally is now currently represented by The Studio Gallery in Yallingup, WA. Her work hangs in both corporate and private collections in more than sixteen countries.
Paula is currently involved with a global poster awareness campaign for endangered species, which was launched in London, UK. Her painting image, ‘Tears of the Rhino’, the face of the campaign, now lies in perpetuity on the surface of the moon as part of the Luna Codex.
The paintings included in this exhibition are as a result of Paula's recent first trip to the Pilbara. The rich contrasting colours and vast open spaces of this area left a lasting impression.
Her work is inspired by the incredible beauty of this land and the rich wildlife that surround us.
