I have had an interest in painting almost exclusively in watercolour for 25 years. My great-grandfather (Alfred Levido) influenced me while growing up, whose art was displayed in all family homes I visited, including my own.
I realised at the age of 40 that I needed to try and paint in this medium, and like him, this turned out to be a lifelong commitment.
I came across the Australind Art Club in 1998 at one of their local exhibitions and found that I could learn to paint, and it slotted well around full-time shift work, meaning I could paint on my days off.
I have exhibited in many of the club exhibitions over the years and, at the same time, was able to hone my art skills under the watchful eye of club tutor Judy Noble.
I have also been a regular exhibitor at most of the BCC Art Extraordinaire annual exhibitions over the past 18 years and have participated in numerous rural and regional art exhibitions.
