In my artistic practice, I delve into the intricate interplay between the human experience and the metaphorical vessel—a concept that extends beyond its literal form to encompass layers of meaning and symbolism. Guided by a feminist perspective, I explore the historical roles of women as creators, menders, and bearers of life, and I weave these narratives into tactile, intimate artworks.
Using materials such as porcelain and textile, traditionally linked to women's work and historically devalued within the arts institution, I emphasise the labor of hands through repetitive actions and slow making, pondering on the duality of strength and fragility.
My pieces embody the resonance of tactile interactions, where pinched clay forms, imprinted with my fingerprints, become vessels for the stories of womanhood, resilience, and transformation.
