King, Irene

There is a strong history of artists in Irene’s family dating back to the work of acclaimed British artist Robert William Buss, who painted ‘Dickens Dreams’ in 1875. Irene, a retired teacher/ art teacher, now lives in Fremantle, where she works from her studio. From the age of three, she has loved the female figure and continues to explore that passion. She focuses on the ephemeral beauty of the female, weaving the delicacy of flowers and nature into her art, hoping the inner strength of her females shines through. Irene has studied drawing, watercolour, acrylics, and oils. She loves to compliment those who work with gold leaf.
