Hazel Hume created Blurred Amber Stained Glass Studio in July 2023, swiftly developing a passion for the craft after making her first piece in June 2023.
An emerging maker in this traditional art form, Hazel uses the copper foil technique pioneered by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the late 1800s.
Hazel enjoys creating elegant glass decorations, suncatchers and small panels reflecting a blend of heritage and contemporary styles, and embodying ethereal beauty. Infusing each hand-crafted piece with colour and soul, Hazel aims to bring a glimmer of daily joy to the collector.
Originally from Edinburgh in Scotland, Hazel moved with her family to Western Australia in October 2023. Working from a cosy home studio (the spare room!), Hazel loves every part of the creative process from designing a pattern to polishing the final piece.
Self-taught in the craft of stained glass, Hazel earlier studied fine art media & photography at Central Saint Martins, Slade School of Fine Art and the Surrey Institute.
