Barrett, Jean

Jean is predominantly self-taught but aided by a variety of workshops and evening classes in the UK, where she was born, and now in the southwest of WA, where she resides, she has gained the knowledge and confidence to show and sell her artwork. While living in the heritage town of Bridgetown, Jean’s focus was mainly on capturing the many character-filled and iconic buildings of the town and surrounding area, using watercolour and ink. This has led to several commissions and sales and a series of prints and cards. Jean loves to experiment and try new techniques and has recently moved into gel printing and neurographic art, which she feels allows freedom of expression. She has received awards for this work.
